The Jewish Gay and Lesbian Group is the oldest such group in the world. Until a few years ago it was a predominantly male group. Now, however there is a nearly 50:50 mix of men to women. This has inevitably changed the dynamics of the group - for the better. We hold more events than ever before, including specific men's activities. These have proved hugely popular and range from pub nights and restaurant evenings to coffee evenings.
The main aim of each event is to provide as welcoming and inclusive an atmosphere as possible to all who come. The group is a social one, not a religious one. We have people from all backgrounds and all ages. We do like to mark Jewish festivals with either a social event or a service, but this is generally just a good excuse for a party or to meet up. The services are nearly always along Liberal lines.
